Travel

Spiritual travels in small groups to far-off places. In the past this has included Nepal, Tibet, India, and Australia. The difference between Serendipity Seminars and other groups is that participants are encouraged to become independent travelers and are supported in finding their path rather than following a rigid timetable with prearranged accommodations, meals, etc. Planning is done with the intention of leaving room for opportunities as the trip unfolds. Perhaps this is best described as individual group travel.

Participants usually join the group because they feel a spiritual call to travel to the particular country or area. The physical goals are often to reach a Temple, Monastery, Church, or religious area. However, the journey is the real goal. In experiencing other cultures and other religions we discover more about ourselves and our own beliefs. These trips are about experiencing and learning, not about converting others to our beliefs.

Generally travel involves living in simple accommodations. This type of travel can be semi-strenuous and may require physical, mental, and spiritual preparation prior to the actual trip. Travel costs are generally at an economy level and will be shared. People who wish to participate in an adventure and have a good sense of humor will fit in well. Being able to adjust to different food, cool showers (or no showers), and not being too attached to a soft bed will help bring you to a closer encounter and appreciation for living in another country. Rather than taking packaged tours, we tend to get to know locals, experience how they live and to appreciate what is important to them.
